David Menefee

David Menefee, a partner with the firm since 2018, is an accomplished business attorney. For nearly forty years, Mr. Menefee’s law practice has consisted of handling sophisticated corporate and real estate transactions in private practice with some of Fort Worth’s most respected law firms and as in-house legal counsel for two large corporations.

Mr. Menefee’s extensive experience makes him an invaluable resource for the firm’s clients, prompting entrepreneurs, investors, real estate developers, and business leaders to rely on Mr. Menefee for guidance throughout their most complicated dealings. Mr. Menefee also regularly advises individuals who want to establish estate plans and/or business succession plans.

Outside of the office, Mr. Menefee is an avid tennis and pickleball player, and enjoys traveling with his wife, M.L., and their three children.

Prior Work

Before joining Lacy Malone in 2016, Mr. Menefee was in-house counsel at Alcon Laboratories, Inc. (a Division of Novartis AG), in Fort Worth with primary responsibility for legal matters impacting Alcon’s U.S. and Asian business units including complex business transactions, M&A, antitrust, real estate, construction, sales and marketing, employment and compliance matters. Prior to joining Alcon, David was in-house counsel at i2 Technologies, Inc., in Dallas with primary responsibility for i2’s partner alliance program and consulting/software implementation division.

David began his career in private practice as a general business attorney at one of Fort Worth’s larger law firms, Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff and Miller, where he represented individuals and businesses in a variety of matters, including real estate (residential and commercial), oil and gas, purchase and sale transactions, commercial lending, contracts, business organizations, construction law, bankruptcy, and probate and estate planning.
